2015 Winter XGames

EXTREME GAMES!!!!!  That’s what it really has become am I right?  Double flips in the half pipe are normal and triple flip variations off the kickers in slopestyle is so 2013.  So why watch?  It’s simple there is basically nothing else on and you haven’t planned a snowboard trip this season plus it is the closest you will get to snow right now.  One of the most interesting statistics we came across today where these FACTS regarding Mr. White.

Shaun White
• 22 #‎XGames‬ starts
• 23 total medals
• 18 Winter  medals
• 15 total gold medals
• 13 Winter  gold medals

How about?  The one that they missed the most is the fact that Mr. White received a total point score of 100 in the 2012 winter X.  I mean come on a 100?  Perfect?  I’m not one to judge, but i saw a hand drag on the last hit…lol.  Peep it.

Whatever happens in the Super Pipe tonight it’s sure to be legendary….hopefully.  For all the Winter XGames information your heart wants hit their site or twitter for event times and what’s going on live.  After you have reached your target heart rate hit up our Riding Essentials portion of the site and load up on new gear and get out and ride already!

2015 Burton Kid’s Kit

It’s such a better time today to teach the kids how to shred.  The equipment today is light-years ahead of what we first learned to ride on.  Gone are the days of ski overalls and cotton thermals, too.  Today the youth get the same technology and features that the adults have and even the same outerwear, but scaled to fit.  Teaching the youth to ride may come with its own set of challenges, but I guarantee that if they are comfortable in their outerwear and really dig their board and their boots fit properly, it makes all the difference.  Burton has always looked out for the kids, and they have some of the best youth equipment available.   This Kid’s Kit is perfect for the fist timer or the kid who is training in the Junior Worlds Team of snowboarding.  Contact us and let us help you build the ultimate setup for your lil’ buddy!

2015 Burton Grom Boot:
Defiantly the most important thing for a young rider to have are a good pair of boots.  If the boots are uncomfortable, then the day is already over.  Get your future shredder started on the right path with the Burton Grom Boot.  Oversized Shred Ready Velcro straps get the kiddos out on the mountain faster, while 3M Thinsulate insulation keeps them warm and dry all day long.  The super cushioned kid’s DynoLite outsole provides better balance, traction, and comfort.  And, as a bonus, the Room-To-Grow footbed will accommodate the next shoe size up, since we all know kids grow so fast!

2015 Burton Mission Smalls Binding:
It’s here!  The binding of legend, redesigned with flex and fit fine-tuned for younger rippers.  Built with the same blueprint of dependability as its big brother, the Mission YouthSmalls gives kids a lean, mean, all-around shreddin’ machine. The pro-grade straps and ergonomic team-issue hi-backs are a first for kids bindings…while ample cushioning softens everything from kiddie slopes to cliff drops and park laps.  Just as good as the bindings you own and perfect for the little ripper in your life!

2015 Shaun White Smalls Snowboard:
The Smalls is a downsized version of what Shaun White himself rides.  It’s also easy to handle thanks to the added V-Rocker!  The Shaun White Smalls is a logical step for riders who’ve outgrown the Chopper and Chicklet, but aren’t quite ready for the competitive edge of the ProTest.  The Burton Shaun White Smalls is forgiving, fun, and ready to tackle all terrain with equal fury.

Burton Boy’s Fray Jacket:
Settle any conflict between style and function with the boy’s Burton Fray Jacket.  Plaid options keep the lumberjack look on lock, while storm-proofing is stepped up for kids who spend all winter outdoors.  Targeted insulation keeps groms toasty in all the right places while promoting mobility for strapping in and shoveling.  A secure sound pocket, helmet-friendly hood, and snow-blocking waist gaiter round out the performance of a jacket that’ll work just as well off-hill, too.

Burton Boy’s Exile Cargo Pant:
For team riders and rookies alike, the boys’ Burton Exile Cargo Pant is an everyday winner with its classic style, midweight warmth, and extra weatherproof/breathable DRYRIDE 2L fabric.  Low-profile Thermacore insulation keeps the heat cranked for all day (and night) sessions.  Inner thigh vents prevent overheating, boot gaiters battle building snows, while lots of pockets mean you’re always prepared.  Check the laundry list of standard features—this pant is stacked!

Winter X-Games 17 | Mens Snowboarding Highlights

With the 17th Winter X-Games in the history books, here’s what went down in a nutshell:

1.) Shaun White dominated superpipe winning his 6th straight X-Games Gold in the event.

2.) Fourteen-year-old Ayumu Hirano of Japan, scored a 92.33 securing a second place finish in superpipe finals. Amazing. It’s obvious that White could have his hands full at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics.

3.) Mark McMorris scores a 98.00 in the Men’s Slopestyle Finals. There was a lot of hype leading into the event about the White/McMorris rivalry. At the end of the day, White was no match for the young ripper from Vancouver who made high scoring history of his own.

X-Games Countdown

Last year, four days in Aspen saw a perfect 100 score, a five-peat, first-ever tricks and a celebration of the life of Sarah Burke. It was an emotional X-Games to say the least. Lives were celebrated and records were broken.

The world’s premier four day Winter action sports event is back, kicking off this Saturday, January 26 in Aspen, CO. This year  promises to be full of joy, sadness,  pain, but most of all progression. With the word “triple cork” flying around, we may very well witness history in the making again. Especially if snowboarding demi-god Shaun White has anything to do with it.
