ADIDAS SNOWBOARDING – WELCOME: JAKE BLAUVELT

Growing up in Vermont, Jake Blauvelt cut his teeth on the east coast contest scene, which is the lowest common denominator to the international ranks for any promising up-and-comer from the northeast. However, the mountains came calling and a few years ago, Jake had a choice to make. Instead of strapping in atop a slopestyle course, he stepped off the trailhead and ventured into the solitude of the backcountry, and that is where Jake Blauvelt found himself and defined his career. Though he’s been faced with tough decisions throughout his tenure in snowboarding, Jake has followed his instincts with conviction and it’s that ideology that, when coupled with his innate ability to ride a snowboard, makes Jake one of the most popular and genuine professional snowboarders in the world. This is the story of a young east coast kid named Jake Blauvelt.

Winter X-Games 17 | Mens Snowboarding Highlights

With the 17th Winter X-Games in the history books, here’s what went down in a nutshell:

1.) Shaun White dominated superpipe winning his 6th straight X-Games Gold in the event.

2.) Fourteen-year-old Ayumu Hirano of Japan, scored a 92.33 securing a second place finish in superpipe finals. Amazing. It’s obvious that White could have his hands full at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics.

3.) Mark McMorris scores a 98.00 in the Men’s Slopestyle Finals. There was a lot of hype leading into the event about the White/McMorris rivalry. At the end of the day, White was no match for the young ripper from Vancouver who made high scoring history of his own.
